“Today will help us move forward and get more use out of our hall “

Margaret Simpson, Chair Coverdale Memorial Hall

Tuesday 17 May saw the first meeting of the relaunched Richmondshire Community Building Network, kindly hosted by Dalton & Gayles village hall.  10 village hall committees attended a lively and informative meeting where there was lots of advice and support from not only Rural Action Yorkshire but John Atkins from Richmondshire CVS, Chloe Lewis from Richmondshire District Council and Gillian Wall, NYCC Stronger Communities Manager (Richmondshire) who kindly supported this meeting.

It was a pleasure to meet the committee members and to listen to their stories and experiences and discuss matters which really mattered to them.  We are able to share advice and information and all agreed to continue the network with the next meeting to held at Booth Hall in Catterick in October.

A big thanks to the committee at Dalton & Galyes Village Hall for hosting this first meeting.  Great that the network has taken off and look forward to seeing you all at the next one and to welcoming new village hall committees as well.
